PROJECT INFO

CDR developed aesthetic design solutions for three (3) single span bridges and multiple retaining walls associated with for the I-35 Corridor Widening project in Norman, Oklahoma. To allay costs, our client the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (“ODOT”), asked that CDR create design suggestions using color staining options and/or by reconfiguring custom patterns from ODOT’s collection of warehoused form liners. Therefore, as this project site is in close proximity of and connects to both the Lindsey Street and Main Street Bridges (both of which feature CDR-designed aesthetics) it was inevitable that their design themes/styles were considered in the development of the designs for this project. Reusing the fluted form featured on the Main Street Bridge and its MSE retaining walls, CDR cleverly reconfigured the original pattern sequence so the project only implicates the nuance of Main Street’s retaining walls.
