The master plan for the renovation and revitalization of the Columbia Heights Metro station and adjacent park in Washington, D.C. includes mosaic benches, Fotera™ murals, lenticular panels, creative light features and innovative water features. Amenities such as the 20' Lily Light Standards that open and close like real flowers use simple mechanisms to function. For these streetlights, pedestrians can turn a wheel at the base of the lights to open the petals for shade during the day or brighter illumination at night. Integrating these types of site-specific components throughout the urban site creates a dynamic, interactive environment.
